Written by on August 31, 2021

A university don, Professor Busuyi Mekusi has charged the federal government to be deliberate in making policies that will boost the nation’s economy, rather than making unrealistic projections.

Prof Mekusi while speaking on The Crest Breakfast Show, said the economy growth recorded in the country recently has not affected the citizens’ lives positively.

The professor of African Literature added that the strength of the currency of a nation depends on its capacity to be able to engage with other currencies in the world.

The former ASUU Chair, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, maintained the resident doctors have the constitutional right under the law to agitate for their necessities, adding that the federal government should keep to the agreement reached with the doctors quickly, so they can go back to work.

Prof Mekusi urged the federal government to be transparent and never enter into whatever agreement it will not be able to implement, saying government’s insincerity brought the nation to where it is today.
