A chieftain of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State Dayo Awude has opined that the party would back the Former Zonal Chairman of the Party, Eddy Olafeso and 2020 Gubernatorial Candidate, Eyitayo Jegede if they both decide to contest the National Chairmanship seat.
Awude made the revelation while speaking on Crest FM’s political programme Oro Oselu on Friday.
Awude said though both stalwarts of the party are yet to indicate their interest in the position, the party in the state will leave no stone unturned in ensuring they achieve their dreams.
On the status of Prince Uche Secondus, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state Honourable Kennedy Peretei says Secondus still remains a well respected personnel within its fold despite the recent court order setting him aside as Chairman and also preventing him from contesting any post within the party.
The PDP National Executive Council is expected to reconvene on the 9th of this month to Constitute the National zoning arrangement and National Convention Planning committee ahead the October 31, 2021 Convention.
