A public affairs analyst, Mr Kayode Adebayo has charged government to focus more on restructuring the country rather than considering a ban on street begging.
Mr Adebayo who made the disclosure while speaking on Crest FM’s Breakfast Show (Eyi Ara), reiterated that it would be difficult and unnecessary to go into street begging if adequate measures had been put in place by appropriate authorities.
He attributed the basis for street begging to an increase in childbirth from parents of low income.
According to him, the government should be more concerned about how to make life more meaningful for the citizenry, rather than formulating policies that will rather make life more difficult for the masses.
The public affairs analyst called on concerned authorities to work hand in glove with the government in establishing policies that will aid the growth of the economy which would in turn reduce the spate of street begging.
