A researcher, Kolawole Johnson has charged the federal government to ensure a thorough investigation of the Niger Delta development commission (NDDC) audit report recently submitted to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Kolawole dropped the hint while reacting to the submission of the audit report on Crest Breakfast show on Wednesday.
Though he faulted the process and the duration of the forensic audit report, the researcher believes investigating the audit report would go a long way in tackling corruption within the commission.
Meanwhile, a former commissioner in the NDDC, Benson Enikuomehin on his part faulted Buhari’s attitude to the law guiding the commission, just as he expressed zero optimism that the report will not be swept under the carpet by the current administration.
It would be recalled that the Attorney-General of the federation and minister of justice received the NDDC forensic audit report from his counterpart in the ministry of Niger Delta affairs, Godswill Akpabio last Thursday where it was stated amongst other revelations, that the commission operated 362 different bank accounts.
