Comedian Tom O’Connor Dies at 81.

Comedian Tom O’Connor has died at the age of 81 in a hospital in Buckinghamshire.

O’Connor was born in Bootle, Merseyside, and started his showbusiness career as a singer, before introducing comedy.

O’Connor rose to fame on TV show Opportunity Knocks, which he won three times.

He also starred in The Comedians and host shows including Name That Tune, Crosswits and the Tom O’Connor Show.

His son Steve Finan O’Connor said he was a “unique comedian who was light years ahead of political correctness”.

He is survived by a  wife ,four children, 16 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
