Abductors release victims from Igboho’s house attacks as Police ban Yoruba Nation rally In Lagos.

Persons who were kidnapped from Sunday Igboho’s home, during an attack on his residence earlier on Thursday have been released in Ekiti State.
According to reports the victims were also given some money by their kidnappers and asked to pay their way back home in Ibadan.
It would be recalled that the house of popular agitator of the Referendum for Yoruba Nation Chief Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho was attacked in the wee hours of Thursday with his wife and other persons whisked away by the unknown assailants
In a related development the Police in Lagos State say their attention has been drawn to news making the rounds and a press statement signed by one Olayomi Koiki dated 30th June 2021, that some individuals have concluded plans to stage a mega rally, in continuation of the secessionist agenda for the Oodua Republic.
According to police authorities, the rally is expected to take place on the 3rd July 2021, at the Gani Fawehimi Freedom Park, Ojota, Lagos State.
In addressing the intended match within the light of national security issues, the Lagos State Police Command warned on Thursday that no rally will be allowed, under whatever guise, in any part of the metropolis.
The Command in a communique by the Police Commissioner, CP Hakeem Olusegun Odumosu, warned the organizers and their followers against staging the planned rally and the need to stay clear of the streets of Lagos.
CP Odunmosu stated that the warning is in the best interest of the State and the general public, adding that anyone caught participating or facilitating the rally will be dealt with within the ambits of the law.
Similarly, the Command said it has gotten to its knowledge that the organizers’ footsoldiers and mobilizers have concluded plans to embark on a procession along the streets of Lagos as part of the programme for the mega rally.
The Police Commissioner stressed that the effect of this, if allowed to come to fruition is better known than imagined on the security, traffic, and economic activities of a cosmopolitan state, like Lagos.
He added that the Command will not fold its hands and allow disgruntled elements to truncate the peace being enjoyed in the state.
The Command appealed to the general public, especially Lagosians to shun the rally while urging parents and guardians to discourage their children and wards from participating in the rally.
Residents were also asked to go about their normal daily activities as the Police Command and other security agencies have put measures in place to provide adequate and water-tight security for all and sundry in the city.
